An idyllic location
We love the unique enclave of La Barrosa beach in Chiclana, Province of Cádiz. This paradise in southern Spain offers a wide variety of tourist activities that respect the purity of the area, with long beaches with clear water that invite the practising of sports and cultural activities.
We recommend visits along the coast of Cádiz to enjoy the marvellous gastronomic experiences and to dive yourself into our history. Visit the settlements of Sancti Petri where the Greeks who discovered the island constructed their shrine to Hercules. Centuries later, the castle was built and has recently been restored to its former glory.
Chiclana has three excellent beaches, each of them with characteristics that make them unique. The most popular is La Barrosa beach, considered one of the best in southern Spain, earning year after year the Blue Flag. Further south is Playa del Puerco, popularly known as Novo Sancti Petri beach. The beach, located at the foot of many hotels, still retains its original state, with dunes in some sections and cliffs in others, in addition to the now traditional clean and golden sands of practically the entire Cadiz coastline. Sancti Petri beach, for its part, remains totally unspoilt, being also located in an idyllic setting, with spectacular sunsets. From there you can see the island and the Castle of Sancti-Petri, where legend has it the Phoenician temple of Hercules was located.
Summer temperatures all year round!
The Costa Del Luz (Coast of Light) offers us an incredible blue sky, every day of the year.
The climate of Chiclana de la Frontera est méditerranéenne-océanique, avec des influences atlantiques, ce qui se traduit par plus de 300 days of sunshine a year and an average temperature of 18.2º.
Any time of the year is good to spend a vacation in as well as to settle and live in Chiclana throughout the year.
As for the thermometer, we also enjoy very pleasant and temperate temperatures, thanks to the ocean, with warmer winters and more temperate summers. So, even if Seville is known to be scorching in summer, Cadiz and its region enjoys the coolness of the Atlantic Ocean.
In summer, temperatures hover around 30°C with peaks of 32°C (against 47°C in Seville!) when the poniente (hot land wind) comes to visit us!

How to get to Chiclana de la Frontera
Par Avion : Diverses compagnies aériennes desservent Jerez de La Frontera, Séville, Gibraltar et Malaga.
- Jerez de la Frontera airport is only 40 km from Chiclana de la Frontera, (around 30-40 min). From there, the journey by car is direct on the A4 (E5), to Chiclana de La Frontera.
- Seville airport is 140 km from Chiclana de la Frontera. By car on the Seville-Cadiz highway, it takes 90 min. about.
- Malaga airport is approximately 220 km away. The most direct route by car is from the A7 motorway towards Algeciras, where you have to change to the N-340 national motorway, towards Vejer de la Frontera along the coast, to take the new A-48 (E5, Highway of the Costa de la Luz) to the Chiclana de la Frontera exit and La Barrosa beach. (Between Malaga and Estepona in summer, it is advisable to use the toll road to avoid traffic jams).
- The Gibraltar airport has a connection with the A-383 to get to Algeciras by the A7, where you have to change to the national highway N-340, in the direction of Vejer de la Frontera along the coast , to take the new A-48 (E5) to the Chiclana de la Frontera and Playa La Barrosa exit. (Between Malaga and Estepona in summer, it is advisable to use the toll road to avoid traffic jams).

Par Bus :
- Il y a des trains de Jerez Aéroport ou Séville Airport to Bahía Sur (San Fernando).
- Il y a même un bus de Jerez à Centre Chiclana (Chiclana - Río Iro) : Bus M-250.
- Si vous venez de la gare de Bahía Sur à San Fernando, le Autobus M-120 vous conduira au centre de Chiclana (Chiclana - Río Iro) et là vous pourrez prendre le Autobus L-8 ou L-11 à Chiclana la Barrosa (Vente El Pino).
- Si vous arrivez de la gare de Cadix, le Tramhahía T1 ou Autobus M-020 vous mènera à Centre Chiclana (Rivière Iro - Notre-Dame des Remèdes), où vous pouvez prendre le Autobus L-8 ou L-11 à Chiclana la Barrosa (Barrosa - Venta El Pino La Barrosa, supermarché Día).
- Le Autobus L-8 et L-11 faire un arrêt in Chiclana la Barrosa appelée "Venta El Pino La Barrosa (supermarché Día)" Tout près de la plage.
- Depuis l'aéroport de Malaga, le Les bus Alsa peut vous emmener à Séville (minimum 3h).

- D'autres personnes proposent parfois des trajets via l'application Blablacar (ayez une solution de secours au cas où un chauffeur annulerait le voyage).
- Uber, Bolt, Cabify ne couvrent pas encore cette région.
